SV proposes a halt on new data centres and asks for follow-up of the crypto-mining ban (proposal)

Original title (Norwegian): Representantforslag om konsesjonssystem for etablering av datasentre

Socialist Left Party (SV) MPs have proposed in the Storting a «panic law» that would put new data centres on hold until the industry is regulated, plus a national licensing system for data centres. They also ask the government to report back quickly on how the Storting's decision to ban crypto mining in Norway will be followed up; this is a proposal, not a decision.

Summaries are our own, written in English from the headline and the public teaser. We do not reproduce article text and we do not get around paywalls. Stories marked “may require a subscription” are from outlets with a paywall. The headline is in the language of this page.
