Changelog

Changes to the Nordic Crypto site itself – new pages, sections and features – newest first. Daily news is not listed here.

  1. New address: nordiccrypto.no

The site has moved to https://nordiccrypto.no/. Old cryptonordic.no links still work and forward to the same page on the new address. nordiccrypto.dk, .se, .fi, .is and .eu lead here too.

  2. Language choice on phones

On a narrow screen the language control is the phone's own menu. It lists every site language in that language's own name, and the language you are reading is marked. It no longer opens an empty panel over the article. The section links sit behind a menu button, so the header stays on two lines. Wider screens keep the same language list as before.

  3. Several outlets on one story

A story can now list every outlet that covered the same event. The front page shows a compact row of outlet logos and a source count. The story page keeps Read at the primary outlet, adds Also covered by with a link to each other outlet, lists every outlet with its logo, country, headline and time, and shows coverage bars by country and by source type (national, regional and local, justice and official, international). The public news API includes primary_source, also_covered_by, sources and coverage. An article about the same event is attached to the existing story instead of published twice. The editor can set duplicate_of on the review-queue row.

  4. Longer summaries on the front page

Each story on the front page now carries a summary of what the article says, two to four sentences, in English, Norwegian Nynorsk, Norwegian Bokmål, Swedish, Danish, Finnish and Icelandic. Other site languages show the English summary. A one-sentence editorial intro is no longer the only text on the card. The words are ours, from the headline and the public lead. We do not copy article text and we do not get around paywalls.

  5. Regulation explainer videos

Five country slots for Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland are at /regulation-videos/, linked from How the rules are made and About. Each slot plays an HTML5 video when an MP4 is present. Until then it shows the title, narrator notes and sources. The films are not rendered yet. Iceland is in the EEA, not the EU, and Seðlabanki Íslands houses Fjármálaeftirlit. The sign-off is The Nordic Crypto team.

  6. Outlet logos on news

News lists, the screen and our own story pages show the newspaper or outlet logo beside the source name when a checked logo is on file. The name stands alone when there is no logo. Kaupr stays a news source. The map from source id to image is in assets/img/logos/logos.json.

  7. Aggregated prices per pair

The markets API now has one aggregated price per base-quote pair at /api/v1/markets/aggregated.json, also on /api/v1/markets.json and /api/v1/markets/by-asset/{symbol}.json. BTC-NOK is not mixed with BTC-EUR. The figure is the mean of published last prices, or the mean of bid and ask when no last exists. Min, max, exchange count and the contributing prices are included. Volume is shown and summed only when an exchange published it, and a 24-hour volume is not added to an unlabeled one. There is no volume-weighted price. Coin icons from cryptocurrency-icons (CC0 1.0) are served under /api/v1/markets/logos/ when that set includes the asset. The markets page shows the aggregate and the volume.

  8. iOS app on TestFlight

A public TestFlight invite for the Nordic Crypto iOS app is linked from the footer, the homepage, the markets page and About. There is no App Store listing.

  9. Prices on Nordic exchanges

Market prices from Firi, Norwegian Block Exchange and Coinmotion are on /markets/ and in /api/v1/markets.json. Quotes are NOK, SEK, DKK and EUR. The figures are market data, not investment advice. Safello, Goobit, Trijo, Northcrypto, Kvarn X and any Danish- or Icelandic-registered venue without a public ticker are listed as skipped. The JSON is fetched at build time and refreshed on gh-pages about hourly.

  10. Editorial ethics

Editorial ethics says Nordic Crypto follows Vær Varsom-plakaten. A named editor approves everything. The complaint address on the page is TBA. The page is at /ethics/, linked from About and the footer, in every site language.

  11. Public data API

News, newsletters, the calendar, sources, academia, the who's who, profiles and the rules map are published as JSON under /api/v1/. No account is required. The guide is at /api/, with OpenAPI and llms.txt for other tools.

  12. Issue #1 newsreel re-recorded

Re-recorded the spoken track of newsletter issue #1 (release newsletter-001-newsreel-3) so it matches the captions. The opening does not say the programme is made with artificial intelligence. Kaupr is named only as the source of the GreenMerc story. The sign-off is the Nordic Crypto team.

  13. Issue #1 newsreel live

Replaced the live newsletter issue #1 video with the corrected newsreel (release newsletter-001-newsreel-2). Kaupr is named only when a story comes from Kaupr. The issue no longer opens by saying it is made with artificial intelligence.

  14. Nordic Crypto on the map, in the newsletter, and for columnists

The public name is Nordic Crypto. EBA, ESMA and the EBA chair are shown as EU on the industry map. Newsletter issue #1 can be read in English, Norwegian (nynorsk and bokmål), Swedish, Danish, Finnish and Icelandic. When a story is in another language, the card explains it in the language of the page. Apply as a columnist from the footer, About and the newsletter. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits in aggregate, without cookies, and that data is not sold. Summaries are made with the help of artificial intelligence, with human editors (jQrgen and the Nordic Crypto editor).

  15. Newsletter tab and the first issue, with video

The main menu has a new Newsletter tab. It lists every issue, newest first, next to the Substack signup. Issue #1 (Binance under scrutiny and Sweden's crypto sanctions warning) can be read in full on the site, with a short video that plays from this website, with English subtitles and no third-party player.

  16. The name is Nordic Crypto

The site is called Nordic Crypto. The newsletter signup links to https://cryptonordic.substack.com/subscribe. The domain cryptonordic.no and the X account @xcryptonordic stay as they are.

  17. Send us a tip

Readers can now tip Nordic Crypto about articles via the new Send a tip page, which opens a form on GitHub. Tips are public on GitHub, so please don't include personal or sensitive information. Our editor checks every tip against our rules; a tip does not guarantee publication.

  18. Past events archive

Finished events are no longer removed from the calendar. Once an event has ended (Oslo time) it moves automatically to a new Past events section at the bottom of the calendar, newest first. The office screen shows only upcoming events.

  19. Denmark added

Nordic Crypto now covers Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland. Denmark has a country filter on the news, calendar, who's who and academia pages, and we now follow Danish newspapers, broadcasters, tech media, Danmarks Nationalbank, Kaupr's Denmark page and a news search on Danish sites. Danish stories, events and who's who entries appear once our editor has reviewed them.

  20. Coverage narrowed to four countries

Nordic Crypto now covers Norway, Sweden, Finland and Iceland. The Faroe Islands have been removed from the news sources, country filters, calendar, who's who, Regulation by country section, academia page and office screen.

  21. Academia page

New Academia page: blockchain and crypto courses and programmes, student associations, publications and research groups at universities in Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland and the Faroe Islands. Every row shows its source, the date we checked it and its status; only editor-approved rows are shown.

  22. Nordic Crypto launches

First version of the site in English: news from Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland and the Faroe Islands with our own short summaries; an events calendar with a month grid, a mobile list and a country filter; a who's who of the industry and its regulators split into private and public sector, with a country filter; a Regulation by country section; the list of sources we follow; an About page with corrections and removal; and a full-screen office screen mode for portrait and landscape displays.
