DNB tests tokenised krone deposits with European banks

DNB has joined CBMT, a test where European banks try tokenised bank deposits across borders inside today's banking rules. The Norwegian krone becomes the fourth currency in the test, alongside the euro, the dollar and the yen. DNB says it wants to see whether krone deposits can move between parties, be exchanged for other currencies and settle securities, while the money remains a bank deposit. Ole Morten Sunde, who leads emerging business products at DNB, said the question is whether customers can move money safely on a shared ledger.
