Editorial guidelines
How Nordic Crypto chooses, writes, sources and corrects its stories.
Who runs Nordic Crypto#
The editor is Jørgen S. Notland (jQrgen), who answers for the content. See the masthead.
How stories are selected#
A researcher collects headlines from the Nordic outlets, regulators and companies on the sources page, with the help of artificial intelligence, and suggests stories about bitcoin, blockchain and crypto in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland. An editor decides what is published. Nothing is published automatically. We leave out price noise, uncredited rewrites and stories we cannot check.
How stories are summarised#
Each story is our own short summary of what the original report says, with a link to it. It is written first in English and then translated into the other site languages. We do not copy article text and we do not get around paywalls. Quotes stay as the source wrote them. A story page shows the date of the original report and when the story went up on Nordic Crypto.
Sources and attribution#
Every story names and links the outlet that reported it, and other outlets that covered it. When the original document is public, such as a regulator's press release, we link to it too. We do not use photographs from other outlets.
Use of artificial intelligence#
We use artificial intelligence to find headlines, draft summaries and translate them. A human editor approves every story before it is published. Translations beyond the Nordic languages are AI-assisted, and Northern Sami is machine-translated and awaits review by a native speaker. Tell us if something reads wrong.
Corrections#
When we find or are told about a mistake, we correct it as soon as we can and say what changed. If a source or rights holder does not want us to link to or summarise their stories, we take them out.
Conflicts of interest#
The editor works on the Nexa blockchain at Bitcoin Unlimited, so stories about Nexa should be read with that in mind. Paid and sponsored events in the calendar are labelled. A news summary and a comment stay apart, and a column is marked as a column. Nothing on Nordic Crypto is investment advice.
Press ethics#
We follow Vær Varsom-plakaten, the Norwegian press code. See editorial ethics.
