Editorial ethics
Nordic Crypto follows Vær Varsom-plakaten.
The code is published at Vær Varsom-plakaten. This page is our own account of how we apply it on Nordic Crypto. It is not a copy of the code and not an official translation.
Who approves publication
A named editor approves everything before it is published. The publisher is Jørgen S. Notland (jQrgen), in Oslo. The work is done with the help of artificial intelligence. Nothing is published on its own.
How we apply it
We link to the original report and write a short summary of our own. We do not copy article text, and we do not get around paywalls. The headline on a story card is in the language of the page, and the source headline is shown underneath when the languages differ. Quotes stay as the source wrote them.
We do not copy, store or hotlink photographs from other newspapers. A news photo is protected (in Norway, åndsverkloven § 23), and a link to the article is not a licence to reuse the picture. Logos are shown only to identify the outlet. Story cards and story pages do not show a picture.
A news summary and a comment stay apart. A column is marked as a column.
We name our sources. The who's who and the academia page only say what those sources say. If we are unsure, we leave it out. People appear only in public professional roles.
We do not publish private information, health information or private financial information.
When we find a mistake, we correct it as soon as we can and say what changed. See corrections and removal. If you want an entry or a photo taken down, we take it down.
Nothing on Nordic Crypto is investment advice.
Reader chat
The shoutbox is one shared room. Messages there are written by readers. They are not editorial content, and Nordic Crypto does not translate them. No harassment, no doxxing, no financial-advice shilling, and no scams or referral links. Moderators may remove posts.
Tips and sources
The tip page does not send a tip to a public GitHub issue. While the private inbox is closed, the page does not accept a tip. When a tip is accepted, the editorial team reads it. The team includes human editors and an editor that is artificial intelligence. The artificial intelligence is not a human. We follow Vær Varsom-plakaten on source protection: we do not name a source who wants to stay unnamed, and contact on the form is optional.
