Data policy and privacy (GDPR)
The analytics script is not switched on yet. This is how it will work once it is.
Who is responsible. Nordic Crypto is run by Jørgen S. Notland (jQrgen), Oslo, who is the controller for these statistics.
What is collected. Each page loads a small script from Cloudflare Web Analytics that reports the page view to Cloudflare. It sets no cookies and needs no account. Like any web request, it reaches Cloudflare with your IP address and browser details. Cloudflare turns this into aggregate statistics; we see only aggregate figures in Cloudflare's dashboard, never individual visitors or IP addresses.
What is published. Only totals: visits and page views per day, week and month, on this page and in stats.json. No breakdown by country, browser, page or referrer is published.
What we do not collect or publish. No cookies, no accounts, no IP addresses, no user agents and nothing about individual visitors. The published numbers cannot identify anyone.
Legal basis. Our legitimate interest in knowing how many people read Nordic Crypto (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). The counts are aggregate and set no cookies, so the impact on you is small.
How long. Cloudflare keeps the underlying analytics data for about six months. We keep only the daily totals, which contain no personal data.
Processor. Cloudflare, Inc. runs the analytics script for us as a processor, under its data processing terms, which also cover processing outside the EEA.
Questions and objections. We hold nothing that identifies you, so there is normally nothing to look up or delete. You can block the script with a content blocker; the site works the same. To ask about this, open an issue at github.com/jQrgen/nordic-crypto/issues without writing personal information in it, and ask to be contacted. You can also complain to Datatilsynet, the Norwegian Data Protection Authority.
