Danske Bank: no bank can build a euro stablecoin alone

More than 99 percent of stablecoins are tied to the dollar, Danske Bank's Mads Clemmensen told the Danish Blockchain Forum inside the Folketing, and he said that cuts against Europe's aim of depending less on American actors. Danske Bank was among the banks that set up Qivalis to issue a euro stablecoin under MiCA, and Clemmensen said that coin is due before the turn of the year. He argued that no single bank can build it alone, and that US law treats dollar stablecoins as a strategic priority while small details in European rules make the business harder.
