How Sweden can be used to finance nuclear weapons

Sweden's financial watchdog and nine other agencies say illegal financial networks and crypto-assets are the highest risk that UN sanctions on Iran and North Korea are circumvented via Sweden. The assessment was ordered by the government and led by the police, Finansinspektionen and the security service, and it covers January 2021 to March 2026. It only ranks those risk areas against each other. The agencies also say no one has been convicted of a sanctions offence in Sweden in five years, and that organised crime already moves cash and gold into crypto.
