Industry body NDI rejects claim that data centres commonly start with crypto mining

Original title (Norwegian): Avviser krypto-på-kammerset-påstand

The industry association Norsk Datasenter Industri (NDI) rejects the claim that crypto mining is a well-known way for companies to get started in the data-centre business, Ságat reports. According to NDI's CEO Reynir Johannesson, it is not common in the Norwegian data-centre industry to start with crypto mining to fund a later shift to cloud services, storage or AI. The story is a follow-up to Ságat's earlier coverage of data-centre company Arctic Core's plans in Kautokeino; the rest of the article is behind a paywall.
