Original title (Swedish): Rysslands digitala rubel når 270 000 konton – succé eller fiasko?

Russia's digital rouble had 270,000 open accounts, 15,000 of them held by legal entities and sole proprietors, Bank of Russia Governor Elvira Nabiullina said at a press conference on 23 October 2026, RIA Novosti reports. She said interest had been higher than the central bank expected at launch. The Bank of Russia plans to launch a subscription service by the end of November and to test offline payments in digital roubles in 2027.
