Brazil's securities regulator launches pilot programme for testing tokenised securities

Brazil's securities regulator CVM has created an experimental pilot programme for securities on distributed ledger technology (DLT) through Resolution 249, published on 14 October 2026. The programme will test issuing, offering, trading, custody and settlement of securities such as shares, debentures and fund units on DLT networks, but without real investors, real securities or real money, and it does not authorise any regulated activity. According to CVM, the results will feed into its tokenisation working group and possible future rules.
