Firi extends lay-offs to March 2027 and hires a new chief product officer

Original title (Norwegian): Firi permitterer til 2027 – og henter ny produktdirektør

The Norwegian crypto exchange Firi says the temporary lay-offs it announced in August will last until the end of March 2027, the maximum of 26 weeks allowed under Norwegian rules, chief executive Thuc Hoang told Kaupr. Hoang says trading activity in 2026 has been lower than the company had planned for. Firi has hired Dino Cehajic, previously at Eika, as chief product officer, and according to Kaupr three key employees have left for other jobs since September.
