Binance says hackers used fake job interviews and an internal AI tool

According to a Binance post on X on 3 November, the attackers behind the recent theft approached an engineer in September with a fake job interview and got him to download a "task" containing malware. Binance says the attackers then used his laptop and misused an internal AI tool to take over the computers of two other engineers. DR reports that Binance has covered 98 percent of the losses; on 31 October Binance said about 90 percent had been replaced.
