BPI lobbies for Norway's oil fund and Folketrygdfondet to look at bitcoin

Original title (Norwegian): BPI ber Oljefondet og Folketrygdfondet se på bitcoin

The bitcoin interest group BPI Norge says it has sent two proposals to the Storting as part of its lobbying: that the Government Pension Fund Global report more openly on its indirect bitcoin holdings, and that Folketrygdfondet invest in bitcoin and digital assets, according to Kaupr's report from a BPI webinar on 31 October 2026. BPI says its membership has grown from 150 to 265 and that its secretary general is due to meet the Ministry of Finance; these figures come from BPI and have not been independently verified. Disclosure: Nordic Crypto's publisher, Jørgen S. Notland, shared a referral link to this BPI contest; Kaupr, the source, partners with him and with Nexa, where the publisher's company does development work as a contractor.
